III. AGENCY DESCRIPTION: Please describe below.

Circle of Care is devoted to the needs of children, adults and families coping with death, illness, and the challenging process of grieving. Our students and interns see clients in our clinic and also work in the Oakland elementary schools, serving a culturally diverse and economically-challenged population. Bereavement counseling and non-directive Play Therapy are the central focus in our trainings and didactics. We use sandtray, art therapy, and other expressive modes of therapy. We also train our students MediCal (EPSDT) documentation and charting. Circle of Care also provides various ongoing support groups for illness and loss issues, often co-facilitated by interns. Services and groups are no-fee; we also provide free services in the schools. Circle of Care is a program of the East Bay Agency For Children.
